In an effort to maximize the total baseball experience, LAYB will allow every player who makes an All Star team the ability to play in non-sanctioned, post-season tournaments. However, in order to participate in Pony sanctioned All Star tournaments, players should live within the LAYB boundaries that will be enforced by Pony Baseball or meet the criteria listed below. Players who live outside the Pony enforced boundaries may be placed on non-sanctioned teams and will have the ability to play tournaments that are not sanctioned by the Pony Baseball organization. Non sanctioned LAYB All Star teams will only be formed if there are enough players to fill such a team.
In order to qualify for Pony sanctioned All Stars, players should:
1. Live within the LAYB boundaries as specified by Pony Baseball

Or
2. Reside within the Los Alamitos Unified School District boundaries.

Or
3. Be granted special exemption/waiver from Pony Baseball. **
Additionally, players (and player’s siblings) who have been relocated to the Cypress Pony boundary for 2012 ‘but’ who have already been playing at LAYB are welcome to remain at LAYB and qualify for All Stars as long as they return to LAYB in 2012 and continue playing in the league.
If you have questions regarding your child’s eligibility for Pony Sanctioned All Stars, please contact the appropriate divisional commissioner. You can also contact the league president, Brian Gorman bgorman@socal.rr.com , for clarification of our All Star boundary rules.
** Pony Baseball can qualify a player based on certain extenuating circumstances. If your child attends school in the Los Alamitos Unified School District but lives outside of the LAYB and the Los Al Unified School district boundaries, he may still qualify for Sanctioned All Star play. Please contact our league no later than February 1st in order to apply for a Pony exemption/waiver. Special circumstances are at the sole discretion of PONY Baseball and LAYB makes no guarantees that any shall be given.
